Adult Education

Adult Education at Temple Shalom

The goal of Adult Education programs at Temple Shalom is to inform, stimulate and educate the community concerning religious topics and social/political issues relevant to Jewish life.

Our programs include a monthly discussion group with Rabbi David, a monthly learning sessions with Cantor Stern, guest lecturers and music programs.



Jewish Learning for Parents of Young Children

Temple Shalom in Medford is thrilled to be the only synagogue North of Boston to be offering families the opportunity to take part in Ikkarim, Jewish adult learning for parents of young children.

Parenting is awe-inspiring.  Beyond the practical issues of how to get your baby or toddler to go to sleep, parenting invokes in all of us deeper questions about meaning, core values, and the world around us.

Join the Yad Squad!

Interested in learning to read Torah?
This class will review the system of Trop used for the reading of the Torah. Participants should be able to read Hebrew.

Learning Sessions with Cantor Stern

Learning sessions are held in the Chapel on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. except where noted. Check the calendar page for the latest dates. Subjects for each sessions are determined by Cantor Stern. Readings for classes are available on the information table in the Temple lobby the week before each class.
